In October 2023, an Edinburgh-based stationery company released their watercolour set inspired by the Capital’s colours. Those who can afford the seven tubes worth £60 could purchase them and happily paint the Scottish marvel in any way they like.
In light of recent cuts to creative funding, the worsening social situation in town and growing pressure on artists, citizens and other inhabitants functioning at regular income levels (or below), I created an alternative set of shades.
The colours reflect Edinburgh of a different nature. The one many of us walk around every day.
